HOLLY Willoughby and Phillip Schofield spoke about Ant McPartlin on This Morning after he revealed he was heading to rehab over alcohol and prescription drug problem.
Over the weekend, Ant McPartlin, 41, – who is one half of Ant and Dec – revealed that he was heading to rehab for two months to battle an addiction to alcohol, prescription drugs and substance abuse.
“I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time. I’ve spoken out because I think it’s important that people ask for help if they’re going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.”
Phil said: “Also today, we wanted to take this moment to send out our love and best wishes to our mate Ant.”
While the presenters went on to host a segment entitled “are you battling an addiction” with agony aunt Dear Deidre.

During the conversation, Phil said: “It’s proof that whoever you are, wherever you are, whatever you do it can affect you.”
While Deidre Sanders added: “I think it’s great that he’s spoke out, it sets a great example for other people who we know will be sat out there worrying about it.
“I don’t think he should feel guilty, I don’t think he should, he was suffering with pain he got trapped really.
“I think it’s wonderful really that he’s taken and made that move to get some help.”
To which Holly replied: “Yeah, I do too.”
After the news broke over the weekend, Declan Donnelly broke his silence for the first time.
Ant reportedly ‘wept’ as he revealed his problem to both Dec and his wife Lisa Armstrong, confirming he needed to head to a two month rehabilitation centre to battle his demons once and for all.
Thanking fans for their ongoing support, Dec wrote to the pair’s 6.58 million followers: “Thank you for all the kind messages and well wishes for the big fella. He will be touched.”
He added: “Your support is, as ever, much appreciated. DD xx.”
